Ingredients Fish fillets - 3-4Onion - 1/2 (grated)Garlic - 3 cloves (grated)Ginger - 1"slice (grated)Egg - 2Garam masala - 1 tspChilly powder - 1 tspCumin powder - 1/2 tspBread Crumbs - 1/2 cupOil - for frying
Method
1. Take water in a pan and bring it to a boil. Add the fish fillets to the water and let it cook nicely (till the fish turns opaque).
2. Remove the fish from the water and shred it into small pieces.
3. Heat oil in a small skillet and saute the onions, ginger and garlic in it till the raw smell vanishes.
4. Add the shredded fish to it along with garam masala, salt, chilly powder and cumin powder. Keep stirring the mixture unti it becomes very dry. This is essential for the cutlets to bind together very well.
5. Once the above mixture is cool enough to handle, add one raw egg or a handful of cooked rice to it. Mix everything nicely with hands.
6. Beat another egg in a bowl.
7. Make small round balls out of the cutlet mixture and shape it into patties.
8. Dip the patties in the beaten egg then coat it with egg crumbs. Now you can deep fry, shallow fry or bake these cutlets.
9. Serve hot with tomato sauce.Tips- You can add any vegetables of your choice to the cutlet mixture to enrich its nutritional value.
